Combining the Latin words filum (thread) and granum (seed), silver filigree describes an art form that is achieved by first die cutting a base layer of silver sheets and then meticulously etching elaborate grooves into its surface. The binding pattern seen on Paperblanks Silver Filigree Blush Pink journal is inspired by a 1697 French binding of Johann Arndts Paradiesgrtlein.
