A history of brickmaking in Rugby, with details of some 20 brickworks in the Rugby area, and the story of Jonathan Dumbleton Pinfold, a metal founder and engineer, who made brickmaking machinery, and then became a brickmaker himself, and also branched out into property speculation.

This includes details of the Collins, Haddon, Haswell, Parnell, Rathbone, Satchell, and Wakefield Families.
