Join us for an evening celebrating romance fiction and the independent bookshops that champion it.
As part of Indie Bookshop Week, this special event brings together readers, booksellers, and authors to explore why romance remains one of the most loved and enduring genres, and why indie bookshops continue to be such an important home for these stories.
We’ll be joined by romance author Jen Smith, whose novels Love Academically and Carbon Dating offer sharp, contemporary takes on romance set in academic worlds, exploring connection, chemistry, and the complications of getting close to someone in the right (and wrong) circumstances.
The evening will include a live interview with Jen, followed by an audience Q&A, offering insight into her writing, inspiration, and approach to modern romance fiction. After the talk, there will be a book signing and time to browse a curated selection of romance titles chosen by our team.
Alongside this, we’ll be offering our Blind Date with a Romance Book, available as part of selected ticket bundles or to purchase on the night, as well as themed recommendations from staff.
Guests can also enjoy sweet treats from local bakery Baked Brownies, with drinks available to purchase throughout the evening.
